  After a seemingly endless winter break,  the local racing season finally got under way over the weekend at the 2015 Warriors Cycling|Rocky Mountain Endurance series Ridgeline Rampage. Thomas arrived at Bison Park in Castle Rock, CO in search of a three peat, having won this race in both 2013, and 2014.  Not certain of his form as he scaled back a little on his bike miles this spring in order to improve his swim and run for the Xterra Off-Road Triathlons he’ll be focusing later on in the summer. The second race of the 2014 season took place in Bear Creek Lake State Park in Lakewood, and the course is notorious for “goat heads” that can quickly turn a fun race into a struggle fixing a flat tire with sweaty and shaky hands. Thomas made sure he put some fresh Stan’s sealant into my Schwalbe Racing Ralph’s so he wouldn’t have to worry about any surprises on race day.
